Charmaine Barclay
President
Charmaine is the President of Island Truss and the daughter of Jim Barclay, who purchased the truss company in 1983. Charmaine grew up around the family business, learning how to build trusses, and how to build a successful business. Charmaine worked alongside her father for several years as Operations Manager and gained a thorough understanding of roof trusses, the value of each team member, and all of the manufacturing processes involved. Since the passing of her father in 2009, Charmaine has assumed the full management of Island Truss, and is proud to continue the legacy of a strong family business, upholding the same standards of quality and customer service.
Richard Tanguay
Inventory Manager
Richard has been involved with the construction industry since an early age, working for his father in northern Alberta. His knowledge of residential construction grew significantly when he and his brother operated their own construction company. Richard began working with Island Truss in 1993, beginning with truss production and eventually taking on the responsibilities of Plant Manager. Richard applies his knowledge of construction framing to every plan he works on, and his 30 years of construction industry experience gives him the background necessary to successfully oversee other departments.
Jeff Loewen
Production Design
Jeff graduated with a diploma in Engineering and Drafting Technology from Thompson Rivers University in 2005. Jeff has been with Island Truss for several years and is a valuable member of our team!
Ed Thomaszewski
P. Eng.
Edward has been a valuable part of the Island Truss team since 1994. He provides our clients with the technical expertise they require and is fully qualified to make determinations regarding choices of building supplies, building safety, and structural integrity. Ed was born and raised on a farm outside of Edmonton and earned his B.Sc. at the University of Alberta in 1973. He has an extensive background in both commercial and residential construction as well as previous experience in truss manufacturing.
Roger Landry
Senior Design & Quoting
Roger has spent most of his life living in central Vancouver Island. He has over 35 years of experience in all aspects of the roof truss business. He has also been involved in the window industry for 15 + years in both the manufacturing and sales departments.
Eric Tanguay
Engineered Joists & Beams
Eric spent seven years in the hospitality industry before joining the Island Truss team in 2016. His experience with customer-centered service now focuses on helping our customers to understand the quality and economics of the products we offer, and the options that are available to them. Specializing in engineered joists and beams in addition to truss design, Eric’s keen eye for detail and outside of the box thinking can help make your plans a reality.
Jason Hunter
Design & Quoting
Jason has several years of construction industry experience which started with residential construction in the family business and grew into industrial construction. With a keen interest in how everything is put together he chose an education in mechanical engineering technology as a solid foundation for design. Jason has joined the truss quoting team at Island Truss and would be happy to discuss how he can support your plans.
