Founded in 2004, Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North is one of 56 local Habitats across Canada working toward a world where everyone has a safe and affordable place to call home. So far, they have built 20 homes on the North Island and served 22 homeowner families thanks to two instances in which the homeowner sold their home back to Habitat after an improved financial situation. With the recent purchase of two large plots of land totalling 1.82-acres, and commitments to build 19 homes in Campbell River and Courtenay over the next three years, the organization is entering the most exciting and ambitious stage in its 14-year history.
